Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said the Strait of Hormuz was used as a “weapon” in the ongoing war. This has a severe impact on the Gulf countries, especially in the economic field.
He made this comment in a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Sheikh Mohammad said, due to the US-Israel war centered on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz crisis, the situation in the Middle East has become “very dire. He also mentioned that as a result, the freedom of movement by sea is being limited.
The Prime Minister of Qatar also said that the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of the Middle East war poses a major risk to regional stability and the economy.
He warned that Iran should not use the Strait of Hormuz as a tool to put pressure on Gulf countries or “blackmail.
Sheikh Mohammad said, “Iran should not use this system as a weapon of pressure or blackmail on the Gulf countries.”
