Extensive preparations are being made by the administration and BNP for the arrival of the Prime Minister to visit the flood-affected areas of Banskhali.
Prime Minister Tariq Rahman is scheduled to visit Banshkhali on Sunday (August 9). Security has been beefed up around the visit. Besides, preparations are also underway for possible travel destinations and communication systems.
On this occasion, Chittagong District Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia, Superintendent of Police Masud Alam, Chittagong South District BNP Senior Joint Convener Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Ruhul Amin, Banskhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) visited the helipad area established at Baharchhara beach of the upazila.) Md. Rabiul Haque and senior officials of the administration.
During the visit, the officials inquired about the Prime Minister’s visit, security arrangements, communication and overall preparations.
Chittagong South District BNP Senior Joint Convener Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa said that Prime Minister Tariq Rahman is coming to Banshkhali to stand by the flood affected people. He said that his late father Alhaj Zafarul Islam Chowdhury has repeatedly gifted this seat to BNP.
He also said that the people of Banshkhali are waiting to welcome the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, there has been enthusiasm among the locals around the Prime Minister’s visit. The administration and related parties are continuing to prepare to make the visit successful and orderly.
