Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced to reduce the price of furnace oil. As per the newly fixed price, the price of furnace oil supplied by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has been fixed at Tk 100 39 paise per litre. Earlier, the price of this fuel was 109 taka 10 paisa per liter. As a result, it has decreased by 8 taka 71 paisa per liter.
BERC issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
It is said that the new price has been fixed based on the international market price of furnace oil and the FOB price of imported crude oil.
The new prices will be applicable to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), public and private power generation plants, industries and other customers.
BERC said the new price will be effective from 12 midnight on July 30 and will remain in place until further notice.
