US–Iran on the way to 14-point agreement to end the war

Date:

The United States and Iran are on track to finalize a 14-point one-page memorandum of understanding to defuse ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Reuters reported. Two sources aware of the matter have given this information.

One of the sources, who is involved in mediation on behalf of Pakistan, said, “we will complete it very soon. We have reached the final stage.”

The proposed 14-point MoU will declare the official end of the war. After that, detailed discussions on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting of US sanctions on Iran and Iran’s nuclear program will begin.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, ‘Operation Epic Fury’ has ended and the US is now on the defensive in the Strait of Hormuz.

Germany says Israeli military presence is needed in southern Lebanon.

Iran’s foreign minister has gone to Beijing for strategic talks, where important meetings with China are held.

Meanwhile, at least four people, including two women and an old man, were killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, according to local sources.
