Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expelled Spain from a coordination center formed to implement the Gaza ceasefire.
The Civil-Military Coordination Center, formed as part of the 20-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, is located in Kiryat Ga, Israel.
The move comes amid strong criticism from Israel’s anti-Iran war, Israeli policy in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and Spain’s deadly bombings and aggression in Lebanon.
Netanyahu said in a statement, ‘Israel will not remain silent against those who attack us. Spain has spread misinformation about our army—, the world’s most moral force.—
He also said, ‘for this reason, today I have ordered to remove the representatives of Spain from the coordination center of Kiryat Gat, because they have repeatedly taken a stand against Israel.’
Netanyahu said, ‘I will not accept this hypocrisy and enmity. No country will wage a diplomatic war against us and it won’t pay any price— it can’t be.’
The move is seen as an indication of new tensions in international diplomatic relations.
