An Iranian missile hit the small city of Arad in the southern part of Israel on Saturday. Israel’s air defense system failed to repel the missile.
Israel’s emergency services said 88 people were taken to hospital after the attack. 10 of them are in critical condition.
The attack also took place in the southern Israeli city of Dimona, just 13 kilometers from Israel’s nuclear facilities. Many people were injured here too.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he spoke with the mayor of Arad after the attack.
Netanyahu described the incident as a ‘extremely difficult evening’ for the city.
Netanyahu wrote on social media X that he will strengthen the emergency and rescue forces working in the field at this time. At the same time, he urged people across the country to follow the security guidelines.
Netanyahu also said, ‘We are determined to continue attacking our enemies on all fronts.’u
