Iran’s top leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is undergoing treatment for serious injuries and is currently unconscious, The Times claimed. According to a report published on Tuesday (April 7), he is being treated at a hospital in Qom, Iran, and is unable to make decisions on matters of state importance due to his unconsciousness.
The report also said that a document prepared based on the joint intelligence assessment of the United States and Israel has been sent to the Gulf Arab countries. It showed that US and Israeli intelligence said that Mojtaba Khamenei was seriously ill and undergoing treatment in Qom. It is through this report that detailed information about his current physical condition has come to the fore for the first time, the media mentioned.
Meanwhile, his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in a joint attack by the United States and Israel in Iran on February 28. Intelligence reports claim that preparations for his burial are also underway, although more than a month has passed since his death, but he has not yet been buried.
On the other hand, Tehran rejected the US offer of a temporary ceasefire to Iran to ease the conflict situation. Iran has demanded a permanent end to the conflict, permission to collect tolls from ships plying the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction of the country and an end to attacks on Lebanon’s Hezbollah as counter-conditions.
