More than half a hundred people were injured in an Iranian ballistic missile attack in the southern Israeli city of Arad. A state of emergency has been declared in a hospital in the city following the attack, Israeli media reported.

However, Israel’s emergency services department had previously said it would treat about 70 people. Among the injured, a five-year-old girl is in critical condition.
The missile hit ‘directly in the middle of residential buildings in downtown Arad, Israel’s Department of Fire Services said in a statement after the attack. The statement also said, ‘there was extensive damage to the affected area.’
Investigation into air defense failure
Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force will investigate why the Israeli air defense system failed to destroy the ballistic missile midway (intercept). This information was reported in Israeli media.
Citing Israel’s military, the country’s media Arutz Sheva reported that two attempts to destroy the missile through air defense systems failed. It then hit the city of Arad directly.
