US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran with ‘bombings across the country. At the same time, he is also presenting a new argument for this costly conflict that has been going on for five weeks. He claims that God himself wants what the United States is doing in this war. However, he also said that God does not like conflict.
On Monday, Trump said that he believes that God supports the actions of the United States in the war that the United States and Israel are jointly waging against Iran. The conflict has claimed thousands of lives, injured countless people and killed 13 US soldiers in the Middle East.
“‘yes, that’s what I think, because God is good”, Trump said in response to a question from The Washington Post reporter at a press briefing at the White House. And God wants people to be protected.’ Trump’s comments indicate a change in his war language.
He has previously given different explanations as to why the US is involved in this war, including whether — regime change‘is his goal. But in recent days he has started explaining the conflict from a religious point of view. At the same time, he is also highlighting the possibility of a wider attack.
Earlier, on Monday, he threatened to destroy Iran’s electricity and transport infrastructure and return the country to the — stone age. He claimed that the people of Iran want to overthrow their government and are urging the US to ‘please continue bombing.
Trump did not respond to the question of whether he sought God’s guidance or not as the conflict escalated. But he indicated that God supported the actions of the United States even though God was saddened by the violence. He said, ‘God doesn’t like what’s going on. I don’t like it either. Many say, I enjoy it. I don’t. I don’t enjoy it.’
He also said he finished ‘eight battles during his tenure.’ Through which he often mentions making peace agreements between various countries including India-Pakistan, Armenia-Azerbaijan. He said, ‘these give me much more pleasure than what we are doing now.’
